2023 saw the launch of Hester’s Jaguar and Brioso, two new dressage saddles that have been developed over a period of two years with some of the more trickier to fit horses! Working with UK Master Saddlers and equine therapists, the two new saddles are possibly the most comfortable for horse and rider and offer the most flexible fit options, using Jacobs Wool to give saddle fitters the opportunity to fine tune for any horse. Our PATENTED X Change gullet plate system means you can easily change the width of the saddle.

PDS X-Change System - Gullet plates

The PDS X-Change is an easy to fit gullet system that allows you to change your saddle width when your horse changes shape.

It is a patented system with easy to identify coloured gullet heads that are easy to change. Most PDS Saddles are based on the SERIES I apart from Hester's Jaguar and Integro which are SERIES II. You can purchase your gullet plates from your local saddle fitter or from our online store.

We recommend that a qualified saddle fitter changes gullet plates.

SERIES II X-Change System Gullet Plates for Pessoa jump saddles and dressage models including Hester’s Jaguar.

All PDS saddles can be adjusted easily, often on site, to ensure that your saddle always fits perfectly.

Each saddle is supplied with a MW gullet plate as standard unless pre ordered by your saddle fitter. Gullet plates are only available to registered saddler fitters. Our gullet plates are not designed for any other saddle brand other than PDS and PESSOA. Gullet plates are designed to alter the width of the saddle, not the shape. Colours denote the widths. Above is the Series II range which goes from

Yellow (X Narrow) to XXX-Wide (Red). Gullet plates are stamped on the inside with a 1 or 2 to denote the series.
